The specialist will manage the entire life cycle of laboratory equipment, encompassing procurement, installation, maintenance, and calibration. This role is crucial for ensuring that all instruments are operational and compliant with regulatory and laboratory requirements. Additionally, the Specialist will support the IQ, OQ, and PQ processes to validate and ensure the functionality of all equipment. A key aspect of this role involves actively managing vendor relationships, which includes negotiating service contracts, scheduling repairs, and handling warranties. The specialist will coordinate with vendors for timely service and collaborate with internal teams to ensure all equipment meets performance and compliance standards. The specialist will perform other tasks as needed to support the overall operations of the laboratory. The successful candidate must excel in collaborative environments and demonstrate a proven ability to influence and drive change.

• Candidates must have earned at least a B.S. degree in a scientific or engineering discipline and at least 3 years of experience maintaining equipment in a laboratory with working knowledge of liquid handlers and Illumina sequencers.
• The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, lab equipment skills, computer skills, communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, and problemsolving skills.
• Preferred candidates will have experience in lab equipment management, lab equipment lifecycle management and vendor service agreements.
• Experience negotiating vendor service agreements with lab equipment vendors
• Experience working with equipment operators (lab scientists) to determine how best to maintain equipment
